September 24, 2009

Description:

CALL ImageWell-known author and researcher Dr. Hakuta and his students at Stanford University have developed WordSift, a free, web-based vocabulary development tool that offers educators the ability to instantly capture and display the vocabulary structure of texts, helping them to create an interactive linguistic playground in which general and academic words can be tossed around and analyzed simultaneously.

During this webinar, Dr. Hakuta will describe the development of WordSift and its implication for ELLs' literacy development and Mr. Roman will demonstrate how WordSift can be used for literacy development in science.
